The harmful effects of bathing in the river for spiritual cleansing

In recent times, the surge for spiritual purification and cleansing has become very overwhelming, especially with many blinking to the realisation that negative toxins could block their spiritual paths and impede their successes and breakthroughs.

Amongst the many ancient practices for purification and cleansing, there has been a noticeable surge in the practice of spiritual purification through river bathing. This revival is driven by a growing global interest in spirituality, ancestral practices, and alternative healing. People are seeking deeper connections with nature and the elements, viewing water as a powerful medium for renewal and transformation.

More people are becoming spiritually conscious and looking for natural ways to cleanse negative energy, remove blockages, and enhance their well-being. There is also a renewed interest in African, indigenous, and ancestral traditions that emphasize water spiritual processes as a form of spiritual rebirth.

For those who feel overwhelmed by modern life’s stress, the calming effect of water and its  purifying properties has become a strong element for spiritual relief.

Howbeit, while this surge has brought a positive revival of ancient knowledge, it has also led to concerns:

One of the most profound of these concerns is the spiritual state of certain rivers – Not all rivers are spiritually pure. Some are associated with strong elemental forces or negative spiritual entities that may cause harm instead of cleansing. In some cases, some individuals may even feel drained or spiritually burdened if the river carries negative energies from past rituals or human activities performed within it.

In certain African communities, some rivers are sacred to deities or ancestral spirits. Entering them without respect or permission may result in spiritual repercussions.

Engaging in spiritual cleansing without proper guidance or preparation can open one up to unseen forces that may negatively affect their energy.

If you have taken a spiritual bath in a negatively polluted river—whether physically contaminated or spiritually unclean—it is crucial to cleanse yourself properly to remove any harmful energy or spiritual residue. Here’s how to do it effectively:

Pour some quantity of coconut water all over your body while praying and  removing any form of negativity.

Roll a fresh egg (preferably organic egg) over your body while praying.

Break the egg into water and discard it away from your home.

You may also recite psalms 51: 1-17 into a bucket of boiled bitterleaf, extract the water, and use it in washing your feet for 5 days.
